Cancer In Ireland

As per the Irish Cancer Society here are some facts about Cancer in Ireland:

Each year sees more than 40,000 new cancer diagnoses, that is 150 people diagnosed with cancer every day in Ireland - every 3 minutes someone is told they have cancer. Scary and so true that we can say easily cancer has touched us all.

Since 2010, €27 million has been invested in life saving cancer research.

Donations to the Irish Cancer Society was made up by 98% from the Public and 2% from the State. This is why Wiggy Wednesday so important and we are calling on as many businesses to get involved.

“We are really grateful to the organisers of Wiggy Wednesday for their show of support for cancer patients in Ireland. This is a really innovative campaign and we are delighted to be part of it. Over 40,000 people are diagnosed with cancer every year. Our work is almost entirely funded by public donations so Wiggy Wednesday will help us continue to invest in potentially life-saving research projects and support services throughout Ireland.”
